Fribourg-Gottéron: cœurs de bénévoles

Ils sont les petits rouages d’une grosse machine. Dans les couloirs en béton de la patinoire de Fribourg, ils vous surveillent, vous contrôlent, vous indiquent votre place dans les gradins souvent surchargés, vous guident sur le parking… Quand le coup d’envoi approche, les 130 bénévoles du Hockey Club Fribourg-Gottéron (HCFG) s’agitent en coulisse. Au bord de la glace, Jean-Roger Gilot, 60 ans dont 25 de bénévolat, ouvre deux grandes portes coulissantes. L’énorme tête de dragon s’avance dans l’arène, les joueurs s’y engouffrent. Le show peut commencer.

Une rencontre de hockey, c’est une heure de jeu mais cinq heures de travail pour les bénévoles. Avant le coup d’envoi, ils fument, bavardent, refont le dernier match. «C’est comme une deuxième famille», confie Loïc Cogné, 29 ans, qui garde l’une des entrées de la patinoire située dans la banlieue de Fribourg.

After completing journalism training at the University of Fribourg in the late 1990s, Pierre-Yves Massot began his career at the daily newspaper La Liberté in 1999. He worked there for three years while obtaining a diploma from the Centre Romand de Formation des Journalistes (CRFJ). Subsequently, concerned with migration issues, he conducted several projects on this topic, one of which was awarded a Swiss Press Photo in 2004. In search of a deeper understanding of society, Pierre-Yves Massot resumed studies in sociology and art history between 2009 and 2013.
